It all started on Monday, February 19, 2007...
I was driving home from my parents house, when a dog ran out in the road. To avoid hitting the dog, I quickly stepped on my brakes...and felt a pop. My car stopped, but I knew something bad had happened. I started driving again. I applied my brake to see what would happen...and nothing happened. My brakes worked only enough to get me back to my parent's house, where we discovered that my brake line had sprung a huge leak. So off to Gibbs with my car...
Our story picks up on Wednesday, February 21...
The carpet was put in our new house! We were so excited and headed over to take a look. We were relaxing in our new
living room when Lily, who was gazing out the window, stepped in an open heating vent and hurt her leg. Lily got to take her first trip to the
emergency room, where she got her first x-rays. The Dr didn't see anything wrong in her x-rays, so he released us. We were given the name of an orthopedic surgeon in Columbia who would take a second look at Lily's leg, just to make sure they weren't missing anything.
We had an appointment with the surgeon
on the morning of Friday, February 23...
I woke up at 6am to find Lily throwing up. She threw up at least twenty times in a three hour period. Talk about pitiful...she couldn't walk and she had the flu. The next morning Aaron woke up with a stomach ache, and soon started throwing up AND having diahrea. Later that evening, Lily, who had stopped throwing up and was acting fairly normal, developed diahrea. Just when I think things couldn't get any worse, my stomach started to hurt. I held it off as long as possible, but soon began throwing up. We were officially in the depths of despare. I called my parents, who came and took Lily. She spent her first night with grandma and grandpa while mommy and daddy tried to regain some strength. She came home the next evening...she didn't have the flu anymore, but she had an awful cold (which she decided to share with me).
We are still trying to recover from our crappy week...we all ended up catching Lily's cold, and are still trying to get rid of it. We did finally make it to see the Doctor in Columbia about Lily's leg...she is still limping, but there are no visable fractures. She probably has a muscle injury, which will get better with time.
We are looking ahead to better weeks, and looking forward to finishing our house! It's really coming along...there are just so many little things that still have to be done. Please keep us (especially Lily) in your prayers. God bless!
